Wordplay — the Sound of Poetry
For the last 18 years the popular Wordplay poetry broadcast has aired weekly on Cleveland’s WJCU FM radio to a wide audience of poetry lovers. For thirty minutes hosts George Bilgere and John Donoghue — both of them poets themselves — read contemporary poems by writers like Billy Collins, Dorianne Laux, Seamus Heaney, Naomi Shihab Nye, Tony Hoagland, and Ross Gay. They banter about poetry, argue about it, have a lot of laughs, and generally give each other a hard time.
