Wordplay—the Sound of Poetry

For the last 18 years the popular Wordplay poetry broadcast has aired weekly on Cleveland’s WJCU FM radio to a wide audience of poetry lovers. For thirty minutes hosts GEORGE BILGERE and JOHN DONOGHUE—both of them poets themselves—read contemporary poems by writers like Billy Collins, Dorianne Laux, Seamus Heaney, Naomi Shihab Nye, Tony Hoagland, and Ross Gay. They banter about poetry, argue about it, have a lot of laughs, and generally give each other a hard time.
